Remarkable Autism Charity has recently joined the Liverpool City Region Fair Employment Charter at Aspiring Level to solidify its advocacy for fair employment for all.

The Fair Employment Charter, introduced under Steve Rotherham, was developed in recognition of an imbalance which favoured employers over employees.

Since its inception, the charter has gained traction with employers across the region looking to join and highlight their commitment to good quality and effective practice in fair employment.

Most recently, the charter introduced the ‘Aspiring Level’ initiative, which acknowledges employers who are aspiring across the four categories of the charter: Healthy, Fair, Inclusive and Just.

As part of its application process, Remarkable Autism underwent a rigorous process which included the team providing extensive supporting evidence before a final panel review.

To support employee wellbeing, Remarkable introduced a wealth of programmes and initiatives designed to promote and boost wellbeing in the workplace.

Mental health first aiders are available throughout the working day and employees can access a range of mental health wellbeing courses to enhance their knowledge and understanding.

The flexible working policy and work balance policy highlight the organisation’s commitment to ensuring a healthy balance between work and personal life for all colleagues.

The employee incentives programme offers colleagues discounts on gym memberships, counselling sessions and access to the bike-to-work scheme.

To ensure inclusivity, Remarkable has several formal accreditations for disability and workplace wellbeing.

CEO of Remarkable Autism, Robin Bush, said: “We are proud supporters of fair employment and joining the charter solidifies our commitment to this important issue.

“Our employees are vital in supporting us on our mission to ensure autistic young people are supported to live happy and fulfilled lives, so it is paramount they feel valued and treated fairly within the workplace.”

Robin added: “Remarkable Autism employs remarkable people and it’s important that they how valued they are. Fair employment underpins our ambition to be a world leading employer, ensuring we attract and retain the very best colleagues to support our young people.”
